Yan Sénéchal is a sociologist. His research interests revolve around general sociology, the sociology of knowledge and science, the sociology of law and justice, and the sociology of public action and public problems. His current work focuses on the development of the sociology of law in Quebec and citizen participation in legislation. Co-director of about ten publications, he has also revised and updated part of the work of Quebec sociologist Guy Rocher: Introduction to General Sociology (Bibliothèque Québécoise, 2012), Studies in the Sociology of Law and Ethics (Thémis, 2016), Treatise on the Sociology of Law and Legal Orders (Thémis, 2020).
