Popular participation is the main theme of Miguel Fernández Andújar's research. His PhD thesis, defended in Madrid in May 2024, is entitled La participación del pueblo en la elaboración de las normas.

This comparative law analysis examines the way in which the people are involved at each stage of

a procedure for drawing up legislation. To complete the understanding of this subject from the

perspective of the modern rule of law, the study then looks at the responses that this participation elicits from the organs of the State.
